FutureMedLA—the philanthropic arm of the Los Angeles County Medical Association (LACMA)—has announced the 2025 honorees for the 12th Annual Los Angeles Healthcare Awards (LAHA), taking place Friday, November 14, 2025, at The Maybourne Beverly Hills.


Widely regarded as one of the most inspiring evenings in L.A. healthcare, the LA Healthcare Awards shine a spotlight on the physicians, organizations, and changemakers leading the charge for better health, more equitable access, and stronger communities. This year’s honorees represent a powerful cross-section of local leadership, systemic impact, and unwavering commitment to public good.



The 2025 LAHA Honorees:


  • Healthcare Visionary of the Year | Cástulo de la Rocha, President & CEO, AltaMed Health Services

    Recognized for four decades of visionary leadership advancing healthcare access for underserved communities and building the largest FQHC in California.

  • Shine the Light Media Award | The Pitt (HBO Max)

    Honored for its emotionally resonant and accurate portrayal of physician mental health and the post-pandemic realities of emergency care.

  • Community Impact Award | Undue Medical Debt

    Celebrated for abolishing over $250 million in medical debt for more than 134,000 L.A. County residents, modeling scalable, system-disrupting healthcare relief.

  • Physician Changemaker Award | Dr. Ashraf Elsayegh

    Recognized for transforming personal tragedy into a mission to care for fire-affected communities by launching a post-disaster respiratory care clinic.

  • Innovation in Healthcare Solutions Award | The Los Angeles Trust for Children’s Health

    Honored for their Children’s Health and Wellness Collaborative—a multi-sector initiative tackling mental health, food insecurity, and economic instability for L.A. youth.

  • Health Advocacy Champion Award | Dr. Lisa H. Wong, Director, L.A. County Department of Mental Health

    Recognized for groundbreaking campaigns to reduce stigma and expand access to mental health services, including partnerships with local sports teams.

All proceeds support FutureMedLA’s mission to develop physician leaders, fund medical student scholarships, and invest in community-driven solutions that improve health across Los Angeles County.
