The FutureMedLA Foundation, the charitable arm of the Los Angeles County Medical Association (LACMA), is now accepting applications for the 2026 FutureMedLA Medical Student Scholarships, supporting the next generation of physician leaders committed to improving healthcare access and equity in Los Angeles County.
The scholarship program recognizes medical students who demonstrate a commitment to serving underserved communities, advancing innovative healthcare solutions, and shaping the future of medicine. Applicants may present ideas, projects, or research that address healthcare access challenges, apply technology or novel care models to improve patient outcomes, advance health equity, or reduce barriers to care for vulnerable populations.
Through its scholarship initiative, FutureMedLA helps alleviate the financial burden of medical education while encouraging students with ties to Los Angeles County to return and serve their communities. Over the years, the Foundation has awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships, with individual awards ranging from $1,000 to $10,000.
