CMA has arranged with outside attorneys to review of physician contracts for CMA members for a fixed fee. These attorneys review many different types of physician contracts, for example, managed care contracts, hospital-based contracts, recruitment contracts, employment contracts, independent contractor arrangements and billing service agreements. The attorneys review for compliance with California and federal law and to determine whether, from a business and practical perspective, the provisions of the contract are beneficial for the doctor or group.
